HOW TO PLAY
The first round is everyone deciding whether they want to hit or stay. This is when you decide how strong your hand is and determine whether or not you want to discard any and replace with additional cards out of the deck. This will allow you to up the hand, or stay at where you are.
By the second round, someone will know what they have and they can open betting, so that the pot in the middle is able to be raised by those that are playing. You’re able to determine what you want to do depending on the cards that you have in your hand and how confident you feel about winning the round that you’re playing.
The following hands are where everyone hits, stays or folds. Those that are left after the third round must show their hands to the other players to determine who has a stronger hand that is able to win the pot in the middle. Remember, poker hands that are strong and have strong jacks within them can overcome other hands. This is a big thing to keep in mind as you build up the hand that you have.
Jacks or Better is played in many different variations, depending on how many hands you would like to play, or cards you want to play with. These can provide you with an idea of exactly how much you’re going to need to think – because each game lasts a certain amount of time. Generally, the original game of Jacks or Better is played rather quickly, and is fast paced to keep all of the players on their toes – so make sure to pay attention and get your poker face on – you have to prove that you’re not bluffing.
